SUBJECT: MEASURING EMFS IN MY OWN ENVIRONMENT

To satisfy my own curiosity, I decided to measure the EMF Levels in my own office with the ME3830 meter. I measured two types radiation being emitted from my office phone, LCD screen and printer.

My Aastra brand office phone showed very high readings of electrical fields; a whopping 150-200 V/m. We took a reading for the telephone receiver being held away from the base of the phone and the Volts per meter only decreased slightly, reading 120 V/m.

I wanted to compare this to see how much radiation and electrical fields my iPhone 5C using its wireless original iPhone headphones emit during a call. To my pleasant surprise, it only emitted about 10V/m during a call using hands-free.

Next I checked my HP printer, which registered a reading of zero LF fields.

Lastly, I checked my LCD Samsung computer screen. Holding the ME3830 about 20cm away from my screen, we found a low level of magnetic fields that fell into the acceptable range.

My findings lead me to think and relay to you all that we unequivocally should be using our headphones to speak on the phone. In the same vein, we should keep as much distance as possible away from all devices which emit EMFs. We cannot possibly get away from our office phone, printer, cell phone or computer screen, but we can put distance between ourselves and the devices to keep us safer.
